Here's your design with finishing effects, and a couple of closeups for detail.
The lower flagpoles are gone, the flagpole tops are faded back, the central badge has been made a bit larger, and the knotwork is faded back behind the Remo crown. There are two examples; the first with the state left clear, and the second with the "Crescent and Palm" graphic from the state flag embossed onto the state, as one of your group had suggested. Eveything else is unchanged between the two.
The overall look is smooth, polished gold. The tartan has very subtle area shadows as well as shadows cast from the metallic elements. The black stripe at the bottom has a leather texture.
