Here's the rework of your file. The outside type has been completely rebuilt to make the letters more prominent. The borders of the badge and the maltese have been completely rebuilt to make them wider to accommodate the gold leaf texture. This is the only way to equalize the tones between the letters and the borders. Textured and non-textured surfaces will never exactly match. The banner and type now have exactly the effects set that was used for Hamilton. Keep in mind that your design does not use the same banner, font, or color scheme. The lions and the bagpipes now have darker reds. Woodgrain has been added to the drumsticks and axe handles. The previous version is posted toward the bottom.
